It’s not often that the conditions are right for a Citizens’ Jury. We enjoy supporting clients and jurors through these processes, as they model true deliberative practice.

Nuclear Citizens’ Jury 1: What’s important for the community to discuss about Nuclear?

The South Australian government are considering the future of South Australia and if Nuclear Waste Storage has a role to play in that future. democracyCo facilitated the first Citizens Jury in June/July 2016. This Jury of 54 people analysed the Nuclear Fuel Cycle’s Royal Commission Report and highlighted the issues that need to be discussed and resolved in the community. This Jury kickstarts a conversation which will reach across all corners of SA giving all South Australians the oportunity to fully understand the issues and opportunities. In October one of the worlds largest Citizens’ Juries will converge the broad community conversation, and provide advice to government about the community’s level of support for involvement in the Nuclear Fuel Cycle.
