Our Services

democracyCo provides the following services

Community Engagement Design

We design bespoke community engagement processes which meet your timelines and budget. Have a problem, challenge or opportunity that you want to address? The best first step is to develop a strategy for exploring the issue with those affected or interested.

Complex Engagement & Online deliberation

We are innovators and pioneers in online complex engagement. The onslaught of Covid-19 into our communities has given us the opportunity to develop and use online technologies to enable communities to come together to consider complex issues.

Workshop design and Facilitation

We are expert deliberative engagement facilitators. We manage and facilitate groups of any size. It’s about switching on their collective potential and getting the best out of people and groups.

Partnership Building and Collaboration

What could be better than having all stakeholders working together? It’s immensely powerful and we can help you to strengthen and improve your partnerships and collaborations. We are Australia’s best stakeholder engagement consultants.

Training

democracyCo are experienced providers of deliberative community engagement training and provide high quality training courses in Australia and overseas. In 2019 we launched our enormously popular “Raising the Citizens’ Voice” training.

Engagement Policy Development

The team at democracyCo have extensive experience in government policy making and in particular in the development of internal policies that guide the organisation/ agency or governments approach to engagement.

Citizens’ Jury / Citizens' Assembly Design & Delivery

democracyCo is one of the most experienced organisations in the world in running mini publics – citizens’ juries, citizens’ assemblies, participatory budgeting as a shortlist. We have delivered more than 40 since 2015.

In 2017 we delivered the world’s largest citizens’ jury, involving 350 people on one of the most polarising topics – nuclear waste storage, for the South Australian Government.

"democracyCo have independence in getting some interesting ‘skunkwork’ style things happening, to try stuff and see what comes of it. I’m excited by innovation in this area. Even if it’s tiny, it puts more power and influence in the hands of the people."
