Reform

We assist governments to design collaborative processes which build partnerships and consensus about reform.

One of the greatest challenges facing effective governance is the sustainability of decision making.

There are two ways to deal with this – either don’t reform (which isn’t great for sustained change) OR change the game – or to be more precise change the politics of the game.

We can help design processes that can assist in designing bespoke innovative processes that brings stakeholders and the community into the design of policy helping to build ownership and support for a new approach.

We work on the toughest of issues – those which don’t have a simple solution.

It’s nearly impossible for any single sector to improve our society on its own. Traditional mechanisms of communication and consultation simply don’t work. These endeavours do not solve our biggest problems, nor do they equip society with the knowledge, capability and will to thrive into the long term.

The challenges we face as a society are great and complex – and there is no easy answer! As a consequence there is a need to move conversations away from the linear to the complex.

Our work crosses boundaries. We bring together people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives to consider a problem or a dilemma. In focussing on the problem, we have learnt that this opens up the dialogue and deep exploration.

We are specialists in supporting healthy conversations between stakeholders, community, citizens and politicians. Our single goal: helping them come up with solutions that they can live with and in the process develop stronger, more collaborative partnerships which will support them to work together in the future.

We develop strategies for policy, programs or projects that work for the government, communities and stakeholders.

democracyCo works closely with our clients to understand the policy and reform challenges, the parameters for decision making, the communities being affected, the timelines required and budget available. Central to our work is a co-creation approach which sets all parties up for success.
