Positively Engaged Stakeholders
What could be better than having all those with a stake in an outcome working together to support a process? It's immensely powerful and we do this for every project we work on.
Stakeholders are a central focus of all our work.
We work hard to build strong and trusted relationships with all stakeholders, which paves the way for sustainable outcomes. These relationships are critical to the success of the projects that we run. We do this by treating stakeholders as genuine partners and also respecting their experience, knowledge and interest in the issue.
We have worked with stakeholders on complex and challenging reforms where there are strong vested interests or strongly held views and we have built trust and respect in the independence of the process despite the fact that not all stakeholders have got the result that they would have preferred.
However, of most importance is the relationship between the government and the stakeholders.
We recognise and respect this and work to ensure that we at all times we are upholding, supporting and building existing relationships.
We work with governments to undertake detailed stakeholder analyses and to understand what government wants to achieve by engaging with stakeholders. This process allows us to develop a comprehensive engagement process which delivers on the needs of the stakeholders and of government alike
Sometimes the focus of government is on engaging the broader community. Depending on what the government wants to achieve from this we will also advise that involving stakeholders is also integral. Where this is the case we will design appropriate processes to bring stakeholders into the process.

democracyCo’s work is undertaken on the lands of Australia’s First Nations People.
For millennia, you as the ancestors have been guardians of this Country and we deeply respect and acknowledge Elders past, present and emerging.
As we collaborate together, democracyCo will look to Australia’s First Nations people, the world’s oldest living culture, for guidance that will help sustain our connection to Country and inform the work that we do to bring people together.
Our work is in service to Reconciliation and to moving forward together.
We acknowledge that we have much work to do.
