Resilience Planning

During 2022 democracyCo worked with Regional Development Australia Murraylands and Riverland to deliver a region-wide engagement process with the community, to prepare the MR Plan – the Regions’ Plan for Resilience.

“In awe of the depth of commitment to inclusion, listening deeply, writing words in our voices. Your capacity to multi-task on video calls and capture so much goodness verbatim is inspiring to witness. You genuinely live the values you espouse, and it was so empowering to be facilitated by you. Thank you.”

The

approach

The MR Plan was created using a multi-modal engagement approach. This was deliberate in that we knew that different engagement and deliberative techniques were needed at different times – to ensure that the plan was ‘built’ collectively.

Reports / Outcomes / Influence

  • We have written a blog reflecting on our experience which you can read here.

Working with democracyCo was nothing short of transformative. We set out a typical tender process and received a proposal from demCo that was not in line with our typical tender process, but it intrigued the selection panel to the point of accepting the proposal … and then we ‘buckled in for the ride’ and came out the other side with new perspectives and opportunities founded in evidence and deep insight. Oh, and the number of people on the ride increased along the way! Thank you, Em & Em (and team), for the ride … and most of all, for handing us the wheel so we can keep going.
